Autopost: spread, not spam
These days you easily get overwhelmed by the number of autopost you can setup to spread what you write on the web. Autopost on Twitter, import on FriendFeed and many times the first fire to the second... the result is too many notifications about what you write. This is more spam than spread :)
I am trying today a new strategy: FriendFeed is a far superior aggregator than twitter and in general, is a more powerful and versatile service. FriendFeed now allows a very fine grained autopost configuration on Twitter (as well as on mail, instant messanger and desktop notifier). I used to post and autopost to twitter and import Twitter from FriendFeed, I changee my mind and now I do the opposite. This is better for at least these two reasons:- autopost to Friendfeed will produce a rich content, with pictures or audio, if contained in original post. If you arrive on FF via Twitter, the richness is lost
- I can configure FriendFeed to post to Twitter also other content that it automatically inport, like the bookmark I share via diigo. Now these contents will arrive also on Twitter.
